2005 Water level Summary
The 2005 hurricane season was very active and Carrie Bow Cay was fortunate to be spared from a direct hit. Water level measurements shown in the chart below illustrate the variation in sea surface elevation. Significant changes result from strong hurricane winds and low pressure.

2005 Hurricanes - Water Temperature
Measurements shown in the chart below illustrate the effect that Hurricanes Beta and Gamma had on the water temperature. The resultant decrease in temperature is due to a number of factors including cloud cover, rainfall and mixing of the ocean waters.
